Time Off Requests

Ensuring our availability during peak customer hours is essential to delivering excellent customer service. While we strive to maintain flexibility for our team, time-off requests are not guaranteed.

Management will make every effort to accommodate requests based on:

  • Available Paid Time Off (PTO) or Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) balances

  • Salon Blackout Dates

  • Mandatory calendar commitments

  • Overall salon scheduling needs and coverage

Please wait for manager approval before finalizing personal plans. (Example: Do not book a flight prior to receiving approval.)

Submitting a Time-Off Request

The purpose of this form is to request time off and obtain manager approval — it does not automatically ensure paid time off.

To receive pay for PTO/ESST hours, you must submit your request electronically at:

  • Processing Schedule: Electronic requests are processed every Friday at closing time and paid on the following Friday’s paycheck.

  • Timing: Submit your electronic request the week before you wish to be paid. Requests cannot be submitted weeks or months in advance.

Deadlines and Scheduling Rules

  • All time-off requests must be submitted at least two weeks in advance and no earlier than three months before the requested dates.

  • Requests that include a regular weekend workday require you to work an alternate weekend day to fulfill scheduling obligations.

  • If you have no available PTO, you must make up all unpaid time off, as outlined in the employee handbook.

Extended Absences

If requesting more than 7 consecutive days off, a Leave of Absence (LOA) is required instead of a standard time-off request.

  • Complete the Quit/Leave Form immediately. This notifies HR of your intent for the LOA and you will likely be asked for further details regarding the LOA.
