Great Clips University (GCU)

Great Clips University (GCU) provides a competitive advantage that propels growth and salon profitability by delivering just-in-time, individualized, and blended learning opportunities through comprehensive and engaging education for both franchisee organizations and Great Clips, Inc.

Access to GCU

1. Be sure each employee has a Global Employee ID (GEID).

2. At the POS for each salon where your employee works, enter the employee's valid individual email address in the employee record.

3. When the first two steps are complete, the employee will receive an email with access information.

4. Use Performance Manager on GCU to assign courses and register for training events.

Accessing Great Clips University

Great Clips University can be accessed by using the CellCast app on an iPad or via a web browser by visiting gcu.greatclips.com when not using an iPad. The preferred device for accessing GCU courses is the Flex iPad, available from The Foundation. When accessing via an iPad, you can access via an iPad purchased from the Foundation or a personal iPad. 

Flex iPads and Management iPads

1. The multi-user version of the CellCast app is preloaded - this version allows more than one person to log in and out of the app. It is specific to Great Clips and has the GCU logo on the app button.

2. Generate a salon-specific registration code to link the device to the salon by calling The Foundation at 844-928-2336.

Personal iPads

1. Download the CellCast app to your personal iPad.

2. Enter the general registration code: "GCU".

3. You will be redirected to the Great Clips login screen to enter your credentials; franchisees must decide whether to share this registration code with staff to allow them to access GCU from personal devices.

Non-iPad

When accessing GCU via a web browser, the recommended browser is Google Chrome.
